BIG GAME HUNTS
Lone Rock Outfitters offers guided Archery and Rifle Hunts for Trophy Coues Whitetail Deer, Desert Mule Deer, Black Bear, Javelina, and Turkey. As an Arizona native, I have been hunting the mountains and deserts of Arizona my entire life. All our hunts take place on public land. I am a full-time guide so I continually scout throughout the year in remote areas to locate trophy animals.
As an Arizona Outfitter, I am well aware of the time, effort, and costs that go into planning big game hunts. The success of your hunt depends on the knowledge, character, and integrity of your guide. With a hard working guide, and high success rates , I will ensure that you receive the most honest, enjoyable, and successful hunt possible.
I strongly encourage youth hunting. Both of my children are grown now, but I introduced them to the outdoors at a very young age, and the experiences we share together as a family cannot be matched by any other sport. If you want to introduce your youth to hunting, we will go out of our way to accommodate you.
COUES WHITETAIL DEER HUNTS
Coues deer are becoming one of North Americas most coveted trophies. If you have never hunted Coues deer it is an exciting and addicting experience!! The rugged terrain, as well as the crafty deer itself, combine for challenging trophy! I have been hunting Coues deer in Arizona for over 30 years and know where and how to find trophy bucks. I continually scout throughout the year, finding remote areas where the big bucks live. Trophy quality is very good with most bucks harvested scoring between 90" - 105".
Arizona rifle Coues deer tags must be obtained through a draw. The later hunts in December are more difficult to draw, while the early season rifle tags may typically be drawn every year or two. Arizona archery deer tags are Over-The-Counter. Archery hunters can take advantage of hunting during the rut in December and January. Archery hunters can also hunt in the hot months of August- September where we have success sitting water holes as well as spot an stalk tactics.
DESERT MULE DEER HUNTS
We utilize the same spot and stalk tactics for finding mature Mule deer bucks as we do for Coues deer. Chances of drawing a rifle desert mule deer tag are very good. Hunters can expect to draw a permit tag within the second or third year applying. Archery permits are Over-The-Counter, offering an exciting hunt during the rut in December and January. Archery hunters can also hunt in the hot months of August- September where we have success sitting water holes as well as spot an stalk tactics.
BLACK BEAR HUNTS OVER-THE-COUNTER
We hunt Bears during both the spring and fall hunts. Spot and stalk is our specialty. During the fall I focus on hunting bears eating the ripe prickly pear fruit. Our tactics involve glassing into the creeks and canyons for mature Boars.
Bear Permits are sold over-the-counter!
HUNT INFO
In Arizona using your eyes is key to finding game. The desert country they inhabit is vast, and picking apart the terrain and sifting through the scattered does to find a mature animal comprises the majority of the hunt. Be prepared physically for predawn hikes up ridges to access vantage points for glassing. We use quality high power binoculars (15x56) and tripods. We are very persistent in finding a mature animal and will typically glass all day to find one. An additional guide to help glass can be added to your hunt to maximize opportunities.
The terrain in Arizona is big and wide open, so shots are usually longer than normal. Choose a flat shooting rifle that shoots very accurate out to 500-600 yards.

50% non-refundable deposit due to reserve a hunt date. (Coues Deer Hunts are %70+ draw rate so be sure to get your deposit payed early to reserve a hunt.) Balance is due 30 days prior to start of hunt date.
